Easter. For many it represents the hope that winter storms will soon be a thing of the past, with warmers days just around the corner. But, the hope of Easter represents an atmospheric reality that is far greater than more welcoming weather patterns. Easter signals that Heaven has been opened. The realm of Heaven is the presence of God Himself, with eternal life and the joy and comfort that comes from being in His presence. When Jesus died and rose from the dead, the veil in the temple in Jerusalem was torn from top to bottom, a powerful sign of that a way to Heaven has been made possible.
The week leading up to Easter, known as “Holy Week” is certainly a busy one for the church. As churches around the world walk with Jesus from his triumphal entry, to his death, and his resurrection, we invite you to join us for all four of these services to experience each part of the story as it comes. On Palm Sunday (March 25 at 9:30 and 11a), we will remind ourselves the gate to the City is now open through the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem through the East Gate. On Maunday Thursday (March 29 at 7p), we will remember Christ’s Last Supper and how now, by placing our trust in Him, there is an open table. On Good Friday (March 30 at 6p), we will come together in a family service to reflect on how through Jesus’s sacrifice on the Cross and the tearing of the temple curtain, we now have direct access to God’s open temple. On Easter Sunday (April 1 at 8, 9:30 and 11a) we will sing the new song of the Lion of the Tribe of Judah! He is also the Lamb who by His resurrection conquered death itself and opened heaven to all those who believe in Him. What a celebration! We hope you can join us!
