Debora Wilson

Executive Director (x301)

My story:

I grew up in Belmont, MA surround by a large extended Italian family. I loved the beach, math, science and to dance! I went off to Cornell to study engineering and after completing my degree, worked for the Army Corps of Engineers as a Hydraulic Engineer for almost 10 years. During that time I was married and had twin sons. After the birth of my third son, I became a stay-at-home mom. I raised my children in Sudbury and now reside in Framingham. My twins are now both married to wonderful women and I have an adorable 2 year old grandson.

My journey to TCC:

I grew up in the Catholic Church, attended Mass faithfully throughout college and was a CCD teacher when my children were young. After the birth of my third son, my marriage fell apart. During this very distressing time in my life, I was invited to a Bible study by a wonderful friend who is a member here at TCC (ask me the story of that amazing experience sometime!). She also invited me to join her at a Sunday service and told me she hoped that someday I’d feel at home TCC…little would she know I practically live here now! I quickly became involved in the church with a newly formed group called Single Moms Time Out, which I helped to facilitate for 12 years. During that time, I took some psychologies courses and became a volunteer Pastoral Care Visitor at Newton- Wellesley Hospital. In 2004 Jim Pocock, TCC’s senior pastor, asked if I’d consider doing something more for the church. TCC needed someone to head up its Pastoral Care program. This was perfect timing for me, as God’s timing always is! The twins were heading off to college, my mom had just passed away and I needed to go back to work to start earning a living. In 2007, I became the full time Church Administrator and in 2016, TCC’s Executive Director.

A meaningful verse to me:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28
