HS Guatemala Trip

High School Mission Trip 2019

HS Mission Trip Apps Due.jpgSan Lucas Tolimán, Guatemala

February 16-23, 2019

We are going back to Guatemala!

During this weeklong trip, we will help build low-cost houses in impoverished neighborhoods, construct and deliver fuel-efficient, vented cooking stoves (reducing respiratory disease and fuel consumption), mix and pour a concrete basketball court, sponsor and host a soup kitchen, compete against local schools in soccer and basketball, and lead sports clinics.

We are excited to continue building relationships with the people of Guatemala as we partner with the local church to meet the needs of the community of San Lucas Tolimán.

Promised Land Ministries(PLM) is a non-profit, Christian organization working around Lake Atitlan with local churches and short-term mission teams promoting education, health and nutrition. They operate as a part of Global Action International, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation.

Their vision is to reverse the generational cycle of poverty by focusing resources and mobilizing people to use their time and talents in an effort to reach out to communities and provide opportunities for sustained growth and well-being. PLM works on behalf of the children around Lake Atitlan, providing opportunities for their betterment. Feeding programs, school sponsorship, Promised Land School and medical clinic are the pillars to change lives.

Our trip leader is Jorge Santizo, Missions and Development Director for PLM.

Cost: TBD

This trip cost covers our own needs (travel, lodging, meals, trip insurance, etc.) and helps meet the needs of those we are serving (building materials, painting supplies, stove kits, etc.). Through fundraisers, support letters and personal payments, God will provide the funds we need to make a life-changing impact on this trip.
