Prelude
Gathering Hymn
Lo! He Comes With Clouds Descending
Verse 1
Lo He comes with clouds descending
Once for favored sinners slain
Thousand thousand saints attending
Hail the King who comes again
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
God appears on earth to reign
Verse 2
Every eye shall now behold Him
Robed in awesome majesty
Those who mocked despised and sold Him
Pierced and nailed Him to the tree
Deeply mourning
Deeply mourning
Deeply mourning
Shall the true Messiah see
Verse 3
Now redemption long expected
See with solemn joy appear
Saints whose faith this world rejected
Meet their Savior in the air
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
See the day of God appear
Verse 4
Yes amen let all adore You
High on Your eternal throne
Savior take the power and glory
Claim the kingdom for Your own
Come Lord Jesus
Come Lord Jesus
Come Lord Jesus
Everlasting God come down

(From Isaiah 11)
Reader: The wolf shall live with the lamb,
the leopard shall lie down with the kid,
the calf and the lion and the fatling together,
and a little child shall lead them.
All: They will not hurt or destroy on all my holy mountain; for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.
Let us pray: Faithful God, you are at work to restore all of creation in its intended harmony. Give us your shalom, that we may be reconciled to all enemies in the peace that passes all understanding through Christ Jesus our Lord. God of promise, God of hope, into our darkness come. Amen.

Creator of the Stars of Night
Creator of the stars of night
Thy people’s everlasting light
O Christ, Redeemer of us all
We pray you hear us when we call
Come, oh come
Come, oh come
Come, oh come
To us
When this old world drew on toward night
You came, but not in splendor bright
Not as a monarch, but the child
Of Mary blameless mother mild

Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence
Verse 1
Let all mortal flesh keep silence
And with fear and trembling stand
Ponder nothing earthly minded
For with blessing in His hand
Christ our God to earth descendeth
Our full homage to demand
Verse 2
King of kings yet born of Mary
As of old earth He stood
Lord of lords in human vesture
In the body and the blood
He will give to all the faithful
His own self for heavenly food
Verse 3
Rank on rank the host of heaven
Spreads its vanguard on the way
As the Light of light descendeth
From the realms of endless day
That the powers of hell may vanish
As the darkness clears away
Verse 4
At His feet the six-winged seraph
Cherubim with sleepless eye
Veil their faces to His presence
As with ceaseless voice they cry
Alleluia alleluia
Alleluia Lord Most High

The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
Amen
